I suppose if we couldn’t laugh at things that don’t make sense, we couldn’t reach to a lot of life.

I'll give you another example:
You can turn the traction control off, but it would be easier to launch the missiles from a nuclear submarine. You have push that button and hold it down for ten seconds, then you push those two simultaneously.

And i said to one of the engineers the other day, "Why does it have to be so complicated?"

And he said, "Well, why do you want to turn the traction control off?"

"'Cause it would be fun."

And you could see him thinking: Hhmm. FUN. I must look that up in a dictionary.

Buddy, if you think I’m even going to BE here, you’re crazy!

I still prefer Lewis though. xD

It’s either spectacular unbelievable success or crushing hopeless defeat! There is no middle ground! Ok, there IS a middle ground but it’s for sissies

They got a Paramount Marauder this time round. And from the looks of the video, they really wreck some destruction with it. O.o

Let’s just sit here a moment… … and savour the impending terror.

Out of sheer frustration, i stomped on the accelerator far more than i usually do

As i watched the needle climb past 4,000 rpm, the Civic's i-VTEC engine roared into life, echoing my anger and fury.

A maniacal grin cracked on my face.

That sounds and feels SO good, i thought.

Ahh… The perfect slushball! Hard enough to sting, yet sloppy enough to dribble down the collar and soak the undergarments.

Aside from the fact that the Dutch driver actually said, "Check my car, is my car ok?", i believe i would have rushed over to help the fainting grid girl as well.

In fact, i think most men would. xD

Whenever I need to do some serious thinking, I go for a walk in the woods. There are always a million distractions out here.

I don't know about you, but i think that building looks like it came straight out of the NOD base in Command & Conquer. O.O

Childhood is short and maturity is forever.

I - as the eldest in the family - unfortunately have to grow up. :(

There are just four simple machines to alter force: the lever, the pulley, the incline plane and, um, the internal combustion engine.

Somehow, from a standing position, the new Ferrari 458 doesn't look nice. The gaping "mouth" in the front is big enough to swallow me!

But looking from a low position, the "mouth" doesn't look that big. So it actually looks very good.

I wonder if you can refuse to inherit the world. I think if you’re born, it’s too late.

"This is the problem. If you do anything at all, you stand the chance, no matter how many precautions you take, of never being able to do anything again.

An accident is something which, by its very nature, cannot be prevented.

But no one has got that. Which means that everything now comes with a hand-rail and a luminous jacket and a hard hat and steel-toe-capped boots and a banksman and ear defenders and protective strips and beeps and bongs and warnings and notices and rules, and that means nothing is quite as much fun as it used to be when you could make a buggy from bits of old pram and see how fast it would go down a steep hill."

This is Ensui, your flight captain speaking. Just to reassure you that, yes, there is someone up front.

“A man from The Tape Gallery told me the other day that a car can never be art.

Because for something to be art, it can have no purpose other than itself: No function.”

The end of summer is always hard on me. Trying to cram in all the goofing off I’ve been meaning to do.

"When was the last time, you just got up, and went for a drive? Not to anywhere, not for anything. Just for a drive.

... ...

This is brilliant. No phone. No kids. No interruptions. Its just me, in my little metal shell.

Time to think, time to work stuff out."

I heard a pop, but I think it was my lungs.

For those who wonder why we have supercars when we can never drive at those incredible speeds.

Here is a video explaining why. :)

The captain has turned off the seat belt sign. Thank you for choosing Ensui’s Flight 240 non-stop to Stoney Gulch.

Here are a couple of photos from the Singapore Motorshow 2008.

"Mark: Its pretty impressive that you've got the car in here today as well. Thats good.
Jeremy: I don't think its a real one. I think its one of those fake ones that businessmen buy to put in their offices when you're finished with it, isn't it?
Mark: I think you're right. Yeah.
Jeremy: Yeah, I don't think you'll win... Mind you, probably faster than your one this year.
Mark: Oei..."

"They design all this. Everything on it is all fluid and they go and put this vertical windscreen on.
Thats whats slowing you down, mate. Seriously."
- Jeremy Clarkson interviewing Jenson Button in "Top Gear" Season 8 Episode 8

This is an amphibious car by RinSpeed. According to the video at the exhibition, it can actually travel underwater. It has an electric motor, so it doesn't really go all that fast. :p

"Its hard to say how much power the GTR develops, because each engine - as i said last week - is hand-built, and each one is therefore a little bit different.
But i think they put a million horsepower in this one because the acceleration is just... blistering!
Its just... savage! God, its face-ripping!
With the launch control engaged, I did 0-60 (mph) in 3.5 seconds, and flat out, its even more impressive."
- Jeremy Clarkson in "Top Gear" Season 11 Episode 5

"With a 0-60 (mph) time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 192 (mph), the Gallardo blitz the Porsche and the Aston. And with a 100 breakhorse power more than you get in a Ferrari 360, it nukes that too."
- Jeremy Clarkson in "Top Gear" Season 3 Episode 4

All in all, its disappointing to say the least. Mostly because there aren't any european cars in it. Cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi and Volkswagon were all absent.

And because of that, the motor girls were all posing alongside with unglamorous family saloons and seven-seaters.

And the worse bit?

You have to pay for admission. (-.-)

Be careful, or be roadkill!

Today, while i was waiting at a major junction at Bishan, i felt a cold, hard stare focusing at me.

I looked across.

Its white body was sitting low and menacing on the road. Its body shape tensed, like a puma ready to pounce. Its hostile stare continued to bore through my entire being, challenging every car on the road.

It was a white Audi R8, the latest super-car from the German manufacturer.

"Driving most super-cars is like trying to man-handle a cow up the backstage. This... is like smearing honey into Keira Knightly."
"I'm um... I'm completely sold. As far as i'm concerned, this car is almost without fault. It is absolutely stunning."
- Jeremy Clarkson in "Top Gear" Season 10 Episode 2

Later at a minor junction in Ang Mo Kio, i waited for the green light. When it came, i heard the smooth loud purr on my right. There was no mistaking the audio pleasure.

A shining and gleaming prancing horse adorned its back, pronouncing its breeding proudly. With a smooth flowing body and heritage glowing through the chasis and metalwork, it was a beauty.

It was a light blue Ferrari. As i didn't see the front, my guess is that it was a F430.

"So the handling is like the engine: brilliant. And so are the brakes, and so is the steering, and so is comfort, and so is the quality."
"Even the driving position is perfect. In fact, i'm struggling to think of anything wrong with this thing."
- Jeremy Clarkson in "Top Gear" Season 6 Episode 8

I want both cars for my Christmas present. :D

Update:
24/12/07
As i looked across the street, something catches my eye. From the front, it looked like an ordinary Lamborghini Murcielago.

Until i admired its back.

A single great big exhaust stared right back at me. Its engine glass cover displayed the full glory of its sleeping giant. The giant oil cooling aperture on its left winked at me, as i gaped in wonder.

It was an orange Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

"You get 500 carbon dioxides and 640 brake horsepower. Thats more than you get from a Porsche Carrera GT or a McClaren Mercedes SLR! Its more than you get from a Zonda!"
"The result is spectacular. This is not a light car, but my god its fast. Properly. Savagely fast."

Petrol-Head Time...

Just been to the 8th Singapore Motor Show. It wasn't as crowded as i thought it would be. Took a couple of pictures with my handphone, so i apologize in advance for poor quality. :)

The highlight to me, was of course, the latest Ferrari: F599 GTB Fiorano. With 620 brake-horsepower (bhp), 0-100 km/h acceleration of 3.7s, a top speed of more than 330 km/h and its not-too-shabby looks, it is truly a supercar. I can't wait to see what TopGear thinks of it in its upcoming season. :)

This is the Ferrari F430. Balanced, poised and with the same technology used in Michael Schumacher's F1 car, it will out-turn any car in any corner. It is truly an engineering marvel.

The mad and flamboyant Lamborghini showcased its Gallardo Spyder. Isn't it a thing of beauty? :)

I wasn't planning to take any pictures of Lexus, but this one caught my eye. The car of course, not the girl. It looks fantastic. I don't have any information on it unfortunately.

On the more affordable range, we have the Nissan 350Z. Decent speed and looks too. The car of course, not the girl.

If my guess is correct, this is the same Honda F1 car that Jenson Button used when he won one of the races. That car is all curves and form (the car of course, not the girls >.<), spoiled by a small vertical windscreen. Another affordable car is the Honda S2000. Its double wishbone suspension and X-frame means that it takes a good driver to drive it well. A poor driver will simply be thrown out.

This is the ProDrive P2. Its a one-off and a technological showcase by ProDrive, who tunes cars for Subaru, Aston Martin, Ford, Porsche, Honda and BMW. Its a real pity that they're not gonna make it for road-use. The TopGear presenter, Jeremy Clarkson, drove this car in circles, going faster and faster until it made him throw up. :p

Anyone wanna contribute to the buy-a-car-for-ensui charity? :D
